ColorLab is a professional colour-formulation app for hair salons. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices you have. ColorLab is operated by Evera Ltd ("we", "us"), company number 09649356, United Kingdom.

The short version. A salon uses ColorLab to record the colour it mixes for its own clients. We store that information securely so the salon can use it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising. The salon controls its client data; we process it on the salon's behalf.

Information we handle

Salon & device setup: your salon name, the connect code used to activate a device, and basic device identifiers needed to run the service.
Client colour records (entered by the salon): client name and, where the salon adds them, contact details; the colour formulas, shades and gram weights used; optional photos of hair taken to help suggest a formula; and service/cost notes.
Usage & diagnostics: we use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (which features, where people get stuck) and Firebase Crashlytics to detect crashes and errors, so we can fix problems and improve ColorLab. This is aggregate product analytics and crash reporting — it is not used for advertising.

ColorLab does not request your location and does not use advertising identifiers or any advertising SDKs, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app can optionally import contacts you choose, only to add them to your salon's client book.

How the information is used

To provide the core service — saving each client's colour history so a salon can repeat a formula accurately on the next visit.
To suggest a starting colour formula from a photo you choose to take.
To show a salon its own product usage and colour costs.
To operate, secure, and improve the app.

Roles & legal basis

For the client records a salon enters, the salon is the data controller and ColorLab acts as a data processor on the salon's instructions. We process this information to perform our service to the salon (contract) and for our legitimate interest in operating and securing the app. Salons are responsible for informing their own clients and for having a lawful basis to record their details.

Storage & sharing

Data is stored using Google Firebase (Google Cloud) as our infrastructure sub-processor, protected in transit by encryption and access controls. We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with the service providers required to run ColorLab, or where required by law.

Retention & deletion

Client colour records are kept for as long as the salon uses ColorLab, so history remains available between visits. A salon can request correction or deletion of its data — including the export or removal of a salon's records if it stops using the service — by contacting us.

Your rights

Depending on your location (including under UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Salon clients should contact their salon (the controller) first; we will assist the salon in responding. You can also contact us directly using the details below.

Children

ColorLab is a business tool for salon professionals and is not directed to children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
